I think some of y'all got lost. This isn't the Youtube comment section folks.
Indeed. Given the tone and politeness of answers, it has to be Twitter here.
Please explain how McLaren is more determined to win than Ferrari then. Is it from bringing a big upgrade a race before Ferrari did?
It's not related to the updates being introduced these days.
Six-seven years ago, Ferrari was fighting for the title (with the best car along the pitlane) while McLaren was seemingly on the same way down as Williams. Then Ferrari went through the so called Marchionne reorganization, the very embarrassing motorgate, years of ineptitude, a few sporadic surges of the old spirit but basically no plausible plan to conquer the title again (particularly in terms of hirings and investments in the technical department). All in all, conservatism ruled there. As opposite, McLaren had the courage of discontinuing the partership with Honda and completely rebuilding their organization (they fired team principle and chief designer, on top of aggressively chasing top notch professionals leaving top teams). Ferrari made a lot af marketing announcements and promises (not only by Binotto), McLaren kept their mouth shut and worked hard. Year after year I delude myself we'll see Ferrari fighting again the way they used to, and then regularly I end up convincing myself they have become a luxury brand much more than a racing team.
